FIE HMAS STIRLING

Project Overview
Scope Highlights

Our key service provisions for the project included;

Engaged by BARPA, Varner undertook over 700m3 worth of intricate concrete and steel works, delivering sensitive infrastructure on behalf of the Department of Defence at Garden Island.

Highly-engineered due to the nature of the site and facility, we worked with the engineering team to re-sequence project works in order to optimise cost and efficiency for the end client.

The original programme of works called for seven weeks of deck works. We completed this component in only two, returning over 25 days to the clients lag time.

No continuous formwork could be used. We worked in-between existing hard-edges deploying our skilled formwork carpentry team, working both in and out of sequence.

With over 1900 cast-in reed bar ferrels and 59 sets of anchor bolts, this complex scope was testament to the Varner teams skill.
